Creativity and flavor are the best words to describe the Resort's cuisine

The chef Bida is responsible for the menu and signed dishes of the Itacaré Eco Resort's restaurant, Mãe Josepha. The breakfast menu offers a variety of breads, cakes, cold cuts, cheeses, phyllo pastries, yogurts, jams, fruits and juices, as well as "tapiocas" caringly prepared by welcoming "baianas".

The fixed price menu is included in the rate and offers delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts, such as the seafood risotto or the lamb mignon with soft polenta in madera sauce. If you prefer dishes from the a la carte menu, which is not included in the rate, you will have a variety of choices.

For light meals, our menu includes snacks and sanwiches, such as the Wessel flank steak burger or the natural roast-beef sandwich with buffalo cheese, arugula and tomato in mustard sauce. Snacks like our rice balls with "coalho" cheese in chilli and "cachaça" sauce or the fish nuggets in tartar sauce, are worth a try. A kid's menu, designed to please the little ones, is also available.

Beaches, waterfalls, hiking trails and active nightlife are Itacaré's main attractions

Whether you love adventure sports and exciting experiences or just want to relax and enjoy at leisure, Itacaré is the perfect destination for nature lovers. Sunny all year round, its several kilometers of beaches all have clear and mild water. Small rivers or streams cut through most of these beaches, creating beautiful surroundings. When the tide is low, rock pools are formed along the coast, which in many parts is dotted with reefs.

Waterfalls, hiking and horseback riding through eco-trails, rafting, rappelling, tree top adventures and ziplining, are some of the leisure and sports activities available, as well as surf, which has many enthusiasts all over the country. Native residents, Brazilians from around the country and foreigners who fell in love with the place and settled there, help strengthen local businesses and work to preserve the region's ecosystem.

Those looking for nightlife action will not be disappointed with the variety of restaurants, bars and clubs. Bustling Itacaré offers a lot of fun and is visited by local and international celebrities. By the end of the day, you may enjoy watching the sunset at Ponta do Xaréu before the nightlife scene begins to heat up downtown.

Pataxós indians were first inhabitants in this town founded by the jesuits in the 18th century. It was named São Miguel da Barra do Rio de Contas, as a tribute to the church built at that time and still in use. In 1742, it became a municipality and only in 1931 it became known as Itacaré - which means ?twisted stone'. Only ten years ago, after the Ilhéus-Itacaré road, BA001, was paved, tourism flourished and the region became an important center within the state.

Protected by APA - Itacaré Serra Grande Protected Area, created by the State of Bahia government, the region is considered to be a World Heritage Site, fitting into the ecotourism category. Environment and resource management projects, as well as environmental education programs, designed to preserve the natural ecosystems, are developed in the area.
